Asteroid Force: Development Update 1


So after finally getting a released demo out, it is time to start thinking about updates. The next release will likely still be a demo version, with the goal to be moving towards production. As I make the updates in the bullets below I should be releasing improved versions of the game.

Bugs

  • Clean up level transitions
  • Debug timer issues

New Features

  • Add enemies
  • Change Asteroid interactions
  • Add another game mode
  • Add additional ships

The first improvement I will be working on is adding an enemy alien. Right now I am learning about how to implement Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Unreal Engine. It is a lot to learn, but has been fun so far. I plan to dedicate at most two weeks to this particular task. The aliens that attack do not need to be super intelligent, but that could change as the levels progress.
